The Mother Tongue Program is a comprehensive and inclusive way of teaching students more about global-mindedness. In this particular format, it is used as a way of introducing children to new vocabulary and ideas they'll soon be exposed to, but in their home language. It uses parent volunteers and organisation on the part of teachers and administrators. These sessions provide children with a preview of what’s to come and best prepares them for a better understanding of new concepts and vocabulary, in turn fostering a deeper understanding in unit learning that is transferable across languages. Come learn how you too can do this in your own school.
Outcomes: That other educators will start to employ such practises in their own schools, in order to increase and deepen student understanding while blurring language barriers.
