Each country has different rules, regulations and laws concerning child protection. In an international school setting this can be confusing as staff with different cultural backgrounds approach this very differently. In this session we will look at the legal situation of (international) schools in Germany and its implications for teachers and other staff members; from dealing with suspicion to reporting, from code of conduct to working with students, parents and other staff.
Outcomes: Having a deeper understanding of child protection in Germany. Being aware of the role and responsibility as a staff member of an international school and the possible needs to develop this further.
