When students come to class with reading and writing difficulties compounded by poor motivation, weak organization skills, memory problems, and impulsive behaviors, teachers often do not know what to do. This practical session shares interventions teachers use to support the executive function delays that often keep students from making progress.
Outcomes: Participants will share and acquire concrete strategies to help students and colleagues in the challenges and resolutions. Based on research, the process of self-assessment and reflection on learning helps students identify personal strengths and weaknesses as well as set goals for future learning. Pertinent strategies will be applied during this session
