Project-Based Learning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This active and engaging workshop is designed to introduce and expand teachers knowledge and skills in project-based learning. We discuss why project-based learning works, why it is beneficial as a means to inspire creativity and discovery through authentic investigation into students own interests, and how it motivates students to succeed and become lifelong, inspired learners.

We follow up an introductory session on how to implement PBLs, including discussions on assessments and grading. Next, we will work in groups to create our own project based units. Finally, we will share our project as well as useful documents teachers can use when they return to work on Monday and moving forward.

Aims:

• To inform and inspire teachers about project-based learning

• To help teachers develop student-centered, inquiry-based units.

• To facilitate teacher learning on the benefits of project-based learning

• To be able to take away things from this session that you can use immediately and moving forward
